Twitter’s Innovative NBA Streams: All Eyes on the Players
Are you a fan of NBA games? Get set because Twitter is introducing a whole new way for you to watch your favorite players!
NBA StreamAction with a Click
Twitter is no rookie when it comes to streaming sports. But the 20 NBA games it will show later this year come with a twist. Only the second half of these games will be shown, and all eyes will be on one player alone. Who gets the spotlight? You, the fans, decide by voting on Twitter! The streams will include regular season and playoff games, kicking off with the All-Star Game on February 17th.
You Choose the Hero
Who is the player you can’t get enough of? Vote on Twitter! Your chosen player will be featured during the live stream of selected regular-season and playoff games on TNT, as well as the All-Star Game.
The Big Picture
If you’re thinking this setup is a little different, you’re right. But hold on, this isn’t meant to replace your traditional TV viewing. It’s here to boost it! As Kay Madati, the big boss of Twitter’s content partnership, made clear, “We’re not here to encroach on the rights of our partners.”
Deal of the Year
Twitter announced today that it has teamed up with Turner Sports and the NBA for this grand initiative.
Not the First Rodeo
Twitter is already a pro at streaming sports events. It has previously streamed MLB, NHL, WNBA, NFL, and MLS games. Plus, it’s also covered esports, PGA tournaments, and hosted sports-centered news and analysis shows, including live shows from ESPN.
Stay Tuned
Which games will be streamed, and who will provide commentary during the streams will be announced later. The games will stream on the @NBAonTNT Twitter account.
